AI training jobs for bilingual and non-English speakers

Updated 31 Oct 2026

AI assistants are used worldwide, so they must answer well in Spanish, Hindi, Arabic, Romanian, Japanese and hundreds of other languages. Native speakers are the only way to check that, so language work is one of the most open entry points into AI training. It is often easier to get accepted in a less common language because there is less competition.

Types of language work

  • Bilingual AI evaluation: rate and correct AI answers written in your language (micro1 bilingual roles, $30-$65/hr).
  • Prompt writing in your language: write natural, culturally accurate questions and answers (Outlier, Mindrift).
  • Search and ads rating: judge results for users in your country (TELUS Digital, RWS TrainAI).
  • Translation and post-editing: fix machine translation into your regional variant, usually paid per word (OneForma, DataForce).
  • Voice and audio data: record or transcribe speech in your language.

Which platforms to join first

  1. Multilingual giants: OneForma (300+ languages), DataAnnotation (41 language roles), Mindrift (20+ languages).
  2. Country-based rater jobs: TELUS Digital hires per country and language.
  3. Expert bilingual roles: micro1 and Outlier language experts.

Tips

  • Most platforms still expect good written English for instructions, even on non-English projects.
  • Specify your country and dialect, for example Brazilian vs European Portuguese, because projects target markets.
  • Rates often depend on the language and your location.
