Prolific review

Oxford-born research platform paying cash for academic studies, AI evaluation and product research.

This platform currently uses a waitlist, so approval can take a while.

Prolific was founded at Oxford University in 2014 and connects researchers, including Google, Hugging Face and Duke University, with participants. Studies range from psychology questionnaires to evaluating AI models.

How to join

  1. Join the waitlist (about 3 minutes).
  2. Accept your invite when studies match your profile.
  3. Verify your identity and complete a short practice task (about 15 minutes).
  4. Pick studies from your dashboard.

Getting paid

You can cash out once you have earned at least $6 or £6. After your first four cash-outs, payments to PayPal are instant.
